Feb 22: Time for my favourite hike. We took the cable ferry across the Elbe river, went up the "Schwedenlöcher" (Swedish Holes) to get to the Bastei. Beautiful views of the river and the other rock formations in the area.Funny signs at one of the few shops that were open. Feb 15: Eggnog. It's part of my "culture shock" when I first moved to Canada and learned it is a Christmas thing there. I learned the hard way that there is a booze free version sold by bringing a homemade one to a Christmas potluck. It didn't occur to me that such a thing even exists. Feb 15: Berlin. Having dinner at the restaurant on top of the Fernsehturm (TV Tower) is a great place for an occasion like this. No pics of the food but it was good (I went for Soljanka and Rouladen). Feb 14: I may not be lucky at love (yet) but I consider myself very much so when it comes to my friendships. I love that I know most of my friends for a long time and even if we don't see each other often we talk like we did just yesterday. This year I'm celebrating 40 years of friendship with one of them and it is just fitting that I'm spending Valentine's Day with her.
