Johnston Canyon

I still have half an hour to wait, I keep going on posting pictures.

End of July we made a trip to the Johnston Canyon and this was our first hiking trip since we are here.

In the Johnston Canyon you can find the same kind of stone with that they built Rome.

After we reached the two water falls we were not tired enough and decided to hike 3km more to the Inkpots. The inkpots are 5 very small lakes with bubbles and in nice colors like blue and green.

Kananaskis

Maybe these posts are boring for my Calgarian readers but for me most of the things are still new to me and our families and friends want to see pictures :laugh_tb:

In July we made a trip to the Kananaskis. The highway 40 is closed from December 1st to mid of June because of too much snow.

After my husband complained a lot and loud that he did not see any animals yet these guys were on the road: Big Horn Sheep, the only sheep I know with its own traffic sign.

Drumheller

While writing the Offline post I realized that I didn’t post pictures awhile.

I am making a picture flood while waiting :devil_tb:

In June we were in Drumheller. It’s not too far from Calgary and the biggest source of dinosaur skeletons.

Drumheller

The dino rules Drumheller and they have a nice museum. We visited that and this was our welcome:

Around the museum you can walk aorund the Badlands. The Badlands are totally different from the mountains and we had the feeling to be in another clime.

The next trip will be in the Kananaskis.

news & photos
