Johnston Canyon

Ich habe immer noch ueber eine halbe Stunde, also weiter geht’s.

Ende Juli sind wir zum Johnston Canyon gefahren und dort das erste Mal gewandert seitdem wir hier sind.

End of July we made a trip to the Johnston Canyon and this was our first hiking trip since we are here.

Im Johnston Canyon ist die gleiche Gesteinsart zu finden wie die, aus der Rom erbaut wurde. In the Johnston Canyon you can find the same kind of stone with that they built Rome.

die oberen Wasserfaelle / the Upper falls

Nachdem wir beide Wasserfaelle erreicht hatten, waren wir noch nicht muede genug und sind nochmal 3 Kilometer weitergewandert und an den sogenannten Inkpots rausgekommen. Das sind 5 kleine Teiche in unterschiedlichen Tuerkis- und Gruentoenen, in denen Gase aktiv sind und aufsteigen. In manchen dieser Teiche sind diese Blasen gross und wirbeln Staub auf, so dass es rundherum milchig aussieht, genauso wie wenn man Tinte ins Wasser tropfen laesst.

After we reached the two water falls we were not tired enough and decided to hike 3km more to the Inkpots. The inkpots are 5 very small lakes with bubbles and in nice colors like blue and green.

  1. Tzs Tzs. Da zieht ihr los um die Natur zu bewundern und verbiegt Bäume. Was soll ich dazu noch sagen?

    Wunderschöne Photos habt ihr da gemacht! Das erste Streifenhörnchen konnte ich nicht finden….. bin zu blind 🙂

  2. Danke für die schönen Bilder. Der nächste Urlaub ist noch lange nicht in Sicht, daher ist es um so schöner, eine virtuelle Wanderung zu machen.

    Ich habe seit heute auch ein Chipmunk im Blog; ein Foto aus den USA.
