A little colour / Ein bisschen Farbe
Today it was a pretty gloomy day, started grey, then it started raining and later snow. The right time to check if the roving I dyed earlier this week has dried and survived the dyeing unfelted. It did. I was a little worried because it is a 16 micron merino, so pretty fine. I like the bright colours and maybe this one just becomes a nice stripey hat for me. We’ll see.
Heute war es ein ziemlich trueber Tag, alles grau in grau, dann fing es an zu regnen und spaeter gab es sogar Schnee. Genau die richtige Zeit, um nachzuschauen, ob der Kammzug, den ich diese Woche gefaerbt hatte, trocken war und das Faerben unverfilzt ueberstanden hat. Japp, hat er. Ich war mir nicht ganz sicher, da dieser mit 16 Mikron doch sehr fein ist. Ich mag die knalligen Farben und wahrscheinlich wird es eine gestreifte Muetze fuer mich. Wir werden sehen.
Wanda Nell Cardigan – FO
I have a FO to show: The Wanda Nell Cardigan.
The pattern peaked my interest because it is supposed to only use about 850m of fingering weight yarn or 2 skeins. I did use a bit more due to the slightly longer sleeves but if you keep them short you most likely get away with about 800-850m depending on yarn and size. Living in Canada short-sleeved cardigans don’t make sense to me 😉 With Winter approaching fast I’m thinking of still knitting the sleeves longer because I still have almost a full skein left.
Die Anleitung klang interessant, da laut Beschreibung nur etwa 850m oder 2 Knaeule Garn in Sockenwollstaerke benoetigt werden. Ich habe durch die etwas laengeren Aermel mehr verbraucht, aber ich denke mit kurzen Aermeln werden wohl die beschriebenen 850m je nach Garn und Groesse, reichen. Kurzaermelige Jacken machen fuer mich hier in Kanada keinen Sinn 😉 Der Winter kommt in grossen Schritten und ich ueberlege noch, ob ich die Aermel nicht doch noch laenger stricke. Wolle haette ich noch.
